Microsoft released the MIT-licensed UserRepGen-4B source checkpoint on 14 October 2026. The selected independent 2,708,804,576-byte Q4_K_M conversion appeared on 15 October and is marked recommended by its converter. UserRepGen transforms authorized English multi-turn user-assistant conversations into JSON task and user-behavior descriptions for a separate simulator; it is not a chat assistant, a user-turn generator or anonymization software.

UserRepGen-4B · simulation fidelity

4.95 / 10

Microsoft-reported best-of-1 conversation-reconstruction fidelity for the BF16 UserRepGen-4B source checkpoint. The 1-10 score is produced by an LLM judge in a specialized user-simulation pipeline, not a general chat benchmark or a test of the selected GGUF.

Benchmark efficiency: 1.827 published score points per GB of selected weights. This ratio is not an inference-speed measure; check the test settings to see whether the score covers the selected quantization.

Test settings: Microsoft-reported best-of-1 overall simulation-fidelity score on a disjoint 700-conversation test set: 100 conversations from each of seven real or simulated datasets. GPT-5.4 mini served as user simulator, assistant and 1-10 fidelity judge; three rollouts were sampled per representation. The BF16 source checkpoint scored 4.95 best-of-1 and 6.02 best-of-3. In a separate blinded check of 100 pairs with unequal judge scores, one expert annotator agreed with the judge preference 88% of the time.

Publisher-run specialist evaluation, not independent validation or a general language benchmark. The selected independent Q4_K_M GGUF was not evaluated, so quantization may change JSON validity and fidelity. Pipeline choices, simulator, assistant, prompts, sampling, termination and LLM judge affect the result. The English test set requires multi-turn conversations with at least four user turns and may overrepresent technical, research and simulated users. Representations can contain unsupported inferences, sensitive details and task leakage; the card reports increased same-user linkability and explicitly says outputs are not anonymized. Process only authorized, minimized data and review outputs before reuse. The 2.71 GB file excludes runtime, KV cache, context and output headroom; file size alone does not establish compatibility or speed. The source's Linux CPU run was only a BF16 functional smoke test, not a performance benchmark, and Microsoft did not test this community GGUF. MIT license.

Context and version evidence: The repository and file name identify the selected model. Revision hashes are shown above when recorded. Tested context length, full hardware configuration and run date are not consistently recorded in this snapshot. Only settings explicitly stated in each benchmark record are known.

The 2.709 GB figure covers model weights in this file. It excludes the context cache, runtime, operating system and any separate multimodal files. It is not a measured RAM requirement or a token-generation speed.

Use the model ranking chart to compare one test at a time. Use the 8, 16 and 32 GB memory guide. Check hardware memory and bandwidth before choosing a model.
